RARE - Whitney Houston & Olivia Newton-John - Tonight Show 1990

Olivia appears on Tonight Show to promote her TV movie A Mom For Christmas. Whitney Houston is the other guest and Olivia compliments her performance saying modestly "I'm so glad I don't have to sing tonight. That was great!"

Jay Leno loves Olivia's boots and Olivia jokes that she goes fishing in them. They discuss Christmas and Olivia recalls one snowy Christmas in England. This year her daughter Chloe wants a Princess Dress, last year it was the mermaid dress. Olivia is gifting lots of trees and plants. In a retrospectively poignant moment Olivia says hi to Colette Chuda who is ill in hospital.

Olivia describes the plot of her Mom For Christmas movie. The young girl in the movie visits a wishing well to wish for a mom, her wish comes true and Olivia appears. Jay jokes "Where is this wishing well?" and notes that the premise would make a good adult-themed movie. Immediately, they show the clip where Olivia uses her female charms to win free gasoline from the smitten male attendant. Seen in isolation this scene does seem to be keeping with the adult-theme movie mentioned earlier by Jay! But, it was her unfaltering love for this planet, and ALL of humanity that set her apart from so many. Her fight for conservation; her adoration and concern for animal welfare; her wish for a unified and peaceful world...
Olivia was an Earth Goddess.
Everything she did; every single endeavour she performed, was a song to our souls and the entire planet.

We will miss our friend so deeply. Her passing is profoundly heartbreaking. And, I haven't stopped crying all week.

Olivia, thank-you for all that was uniquely YOU.
