What we're using & how we're using them! Homeschool science curriculum

I know this seems like a lot to do, BUT we are going to be doing to different science curriculums next year in our homeschool! We've used The Good & The Beautiful science units for several years now, and they are a favorite among my kids. It was the one subject they specifically asked to continue. But I also wanted to broaden our interests a bit and decided to add in Sonlight Science C. Lastly, I added some extra resources from Masterbooks dinosaurs/paleontology section to round out our year.

I've taken the time to plan how we will use both resources together, as I plan on teaching them simultaneously (for the most part). I'll be showing what units from TGTB we will be using, what books go with the Sonlight Science C course, how I plan on using them together, and the general lesson plan layout for the year. At one point, this would have totally overwhelmed me, but I'm really excited to add both of these elementary science courses to our homeschool next year!

Lauren - Absolutely loving your content! I recently found your channel and also have 3 kids of similar ages to your family. I feel like our minds work so much the same when planning homeschool curriculum! I’m using Masterbooks Science and Abeka Science for my 4th and 5th graders in the new school year and I am so excited! I love all the things! And my oldest (soon to be 10th grader wants to do TGATB science units along with Masterbooks Science(we are calling it General Science for him.😁)

We love Sonlight science, We'll also be doing Science C this homeschool year and use Dinosaur books from MB purchased a year ago but never utilized it.

Great back to back videos ! We are doing science from apologia and will be adding dinosaur unit study also. We added 3 different curriculums for Bible 👀 one was just not enough for us 😅so I get what your saying, but it will all work out ! 🙏🏻 and if we have to we will extend to the next school year, no need to rush for us 😊

Next year is looking SO fun for you guys! Sonlight is amazing!!! 😍 One of my kiddos is using HBL and Science F, which is the eastern hemisphere and the human body/anatomy for science. It's all so fun!!

Wow, that’s a LOT of different topics for Sonlight! I keep looking at apologia…my kids love science, but I too hate finding all the items for the experiments. Any curriculum that has a fully constructed lab kit is our kind of science.

Sounds like a fun year! I'm looking forward to using Sonlight science...I know that I am not a science experiment person...I never have random supplies on hand, but I think the supply kit and the experiment guide book will make it possible to do science experiments regularly.

We just ordered health and the physical body too! I was thinking of ordering health and the human mind to go along with it & probably will. I was trying to figure out what else to do for science. I’ve been browsing Apolgia, beautiful feet, etc. I may do a workbook science too but would rather do something a bit different. Love your homeschool videos - as a first time homeschool mom, they really help. Congrats on the baby- been following your journey. 💜🙏🏼

That is a very well thought out plan! 😊 We’re doing two TGATB Science units. Kingdoms and Classification and Marine Biology. Your review convinced me about the Marine Biology one, my daughter loves that topic. I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on the others because we haven’t done any before next year except Mammals.
