I'd say navy or charcoal grey. Black is more formal I think idk. Great video

"I stand out anyway because I'm wearing Morts & More." Best line in the video! I just discovered your channel today and I'm glad I did. I like getting style info from various sources because I learn more.

Personnaly, I will go for navy blue first and light gray for the second one. I avoid to wear black or charcoal gray suit cause of my pronounced dark skin. Anyway, so happy to participate to the debate. From central Africa(DRC&Rwanda)

I have a few suits and I agree that black is the go-to suit for any man. My other color is gray/silver or navy.

I would go for a grey in a subtle pattern if this was to be my only suit for the short or long term. The look can be different every wear by using shirt colours and tie colours. Grey looks great with black shoes and brown. I'm a tradesman who does not wear a suit more than a handful of times throughout the year, but, when I do, I like to change it up by adding colour through a tie or shirt.

I hear ya, but I'd say charcoal grey. You can wear it to anything and won't have to be worried about how lighting can make you look like you would in a black suit. Charcoal would also allow you to wear it in more versatile situations. I do like how the conversation evolved into what suit do you get after your first five suits and I agree with that completely-that's when you have fun with it. All that being said, given your caveats I can see where you're coming from. It's fun to hear your reasoning behind everything.

I agree with every point. I prefer to steer away from black suits personally however if I found one that fitted perfectly, I would definitely rock it. Navy is more versatile. Let's collaborate on something in Q4 guys.

Deserve so many more subs, I've been subbed for about 7 months or so and the advice you've given me is brilliant considering I knew nothing really about suits before coming across this channel. Keep up the good work and thanks for all the tips! 👊

At least here in Germany I would'nt consider a navy suit acceptable for a funeral. You would rather wear no suit at all than one which is not black or at least a very dark shade of grey. So the ONE for me is black, because this is suitable on literally any occasion. Although I favour navy suits for everything that isn't a funeral :D great channel, guys. Greetings from Germany

I think charcoal grey is the best first suit and black my first suit was light was actually a gift :)

What a great channel, and fantastic points made for both chosing the blue or the black. Deffo learned a lot!

Agree with Both. Wish there was a Morts & More in the U.S. Do you ship to the States by chance?

If it gonna be just ONE, it would be charcoal grey. Not as formal as black but good for formal events as well. Navy would be strange on a funeral or wedding.

Great video guys, I can definitely see the use of black as it being something you can dress up a lot, also I had a question, I thrifted a decent suit, the shoulders fit but everything else is a bit too baggy, I mean I could get away with it but I'd rather get it tailored, could I get the sleeves taken down in width, or would that not be terribly possible because of the armhole, thanks in advance!!

First tailor would be smal paterned structure tick and soft prince of wales mid grey for me. If I would find the right cloth.

Used to have a sporty and nice black suit, but nowerdays I go for a lighter marine blue. Moore party black can look cheep and boring. But one in an exlusive cloth and the right cut and accessories might look as a killer. But with a cheep one I would not go with a black.
