OpenUTAU is THE way to use Utau!

For the longest time, the comment sections of my videos would direct me to try OpenUTAU as I've often expressed my frustrations with the original UTAU engine. Today, let's take a look at OpenUTAU and how it's been a total game changer for making songs with UTAU!

Utau did actually update recently but it was like really minor tho, it's about like security issues

I have to agree with you on this! I was turned off by original Utau's complications, but when my friend introduced me to OU, I ended up loving it. It's SO much easier to use and navigate! I still actively use OpenUtau to this day, about a year later ^^

bro i needed this!!!! So i just wanted to make utau songs so i got the UTAU software but it was so hard!!! I ran into that same problem you mentioned in the video where when you put in hiragana it still doesn't work, but openutau is so much easier and i'm looking forward to making a song with teto!!!

You can set the voice bank to vcv and cvvc in the phonemizer thing and it reads cv as vcv,

Actually there was this one important security fix update for Utau just a few weeks ago lol. But yea, the last update before that was like 20 years ago

4:35 as someone who has used UTAU for nearly 4 years now: you can actually make pitchbends on the timeline in OG UTAU, while it certainly is slower in og, you can still do it without a plugin.
Theres a specific way to do so.
Basically: you select the note you wanna tune, and then you find the red box connected to the pitch line, right click and select "add control point" or summin like that, then you can freely make more or less of these as you see fit, youll only need like 4 at most anyway, so yea.

I only have one issue with openutau
I can't make growls and I'm making metal like vocals so it's hard

Lovely review… OU sure has some amazing features in store, It’s cool, it’s just missing a bunch of good features or software design choices to make the experience perfect, but all in all, it’s great.
I love how it has that new thing called phonemizer; it’s really useful for english voicebanks or foreign language vbs.

I DO, though, dislike the engine noise of OU, that’s why I initially would rather stick with Utau and give up all good temptations in OU.

Also the learning curve for me was insanely steep.
