this video doesnt teach or talk about how to read it. save your time. click bait titles.

how to read it..start at the beginning and work your way towards the end. if you dont grasp something immediately. give it another chance some other time. thats how ive read it. and ive read it about 5 times in the last year.

Life is like a river. You never step in the same river twice.

That is a profound thought.

Great meditation to start the day- I carry Marcus Aurelius' "Meditations" in my car to remind me that I am responsible for things that I can control- frees up a sense of prohairesis .

Dude, you’ve got such a beautiful versions of the stoic books. Hardbound leather with gold pages. Please provide links for those gorgeous copies. I want to have a beautiful bookshelf of Stoic Classics.

I love the Meditations and wisdom within it has helped me tremendously through life's struggles, but the greatest book ever written is the Holy Bible.

I bough the fancy book but the font was really small and had to buy the classic version. All good, that one will be a display version but make note for future release on making the font a bit larger 🙏

Good idea? Perhaps it's for you. Perhaps not. Problem with the pitch here, the animator portrays Marcus Aurelius as more a statue than a living breathing human being. His meditations provide a route to becoming more human and more humane. Thus we shouldn't imagine him as statue-like--immobile, on a pedestal, or like the Commendatore in Don Giovanni, a statue come (half) to life. Instead, he should use your imagination to see him as a man of flesh and blood, of strengths and weaknesses, of insights and blind spots (not so nice when it came to throwing people to the lions). Like him for his ideals.

Is Gregory Hays the best translation available? I'm actually searching for the translation best for my understanding. Because some other book have deep English ang makes my nose bleed.

Do you prefer Meditations or Letters from a Stoic? Obviously both from different individuals but I'm always curious of which is a better read. I own Meditations but still deciding if I should also purchase Letters. Thanks for the content.

I brought what Ryan suggested to be the definitive version of meditations aka Gregory Hayes version and the introduction so tedious I simply just skipped most and started off with reading debts and lessons. Originally read the book app version almost a year ago but it didn’t really feel right

Actually another way to know how to read it, is to also read Donald Robertsons "How to think like a Roman emperor." The book interpret Meditations on some level too.
