Wow, this is EXACTLY what I needed! Perfect speaking and showing speed, and precise steps on workflow. Any DAM is complex by nature, and I never got into LR fully due to that reason alone...the DAM was SO complex, and daunting even. I guess I just lucked out by finding this video first off. LOVE the fact that what you see in ACDSee is the exact same thing you see in Windows Explorer. That was not the case w LR (at least a few versions ago), and one of the things that confused me the most. One question, why even designate any photos with a 1 (delete)? Just delete the sucker and save you a step. Or am I missing something?

I am looking for a DAM able to TAG several people in the same photo, but all the tutorials show always one person only.

Pourquoi j'abandonne ACDSEE (et aussi COREL Paint Shop Pro)? Parce que tous les "tutos" sont en anglais, jamais en Français, et même pas sous-titrés. Pourtant convaincu que ACDSEE vaut le "vieux" Lightroom et Photoshop mais ceux-là de nombreux "tutos" et formation existent en français. Dommage....

Only one question about organising your photographs. For various historical reasons I have categorisation information in the TAG field viewable through windows explorer - I would like to make use of this. Can ACDsee DIRECTLY access this tag information and make use of it in the digital management process AND can it update this tag field at all. I have watched the tutorial so I know there are several alternatives but my questions relate solely to the TAG facility available in Windows Explorer

To me the ACDsee DAM seems to be restricted to one disk and does not address images off loaded to removable disks. What happens for instance, if some of the images on the main drive are moved to other disks? Is there a database backing the DAM that recognizes the move and marks those images visually as missing and then as connected when the disks(s) are connected again? I do not get the impression there is such capability.
