The Eclipse 500 is a very light jet (VLJ) aircraft originally produced by Eclipse Aviation of Albuquerque, New Mexico, United States. The company was founded in 1998 to develop the 1997 Williams V-Jet II demonstrator. The prototype first flew with Williams EJ22 turbofans on August 26, 2002. The engines were replaced by Pratt & Whitney Canada PW610Fs in 2004 and Eclipse Aviation won the Collier Trophy in February 2006 for the design. A provisional FAA type certification was received on 27 July 2006 and the first delivery occurred on 31 December 2006.

The Eclipse 500 is a six-seat business jet aircraft with a pressurized cabin and a range of 1,125 nautical miles (2,084 km). It is powered by two Pratt & Whitney Canada PW610F turbofan engines and has a maximum cruise speed of 370 knots (425 mph, 685 km/h). The aircraft is known for its fuel efficiency and operating costs, making it a popular choice for business travelers and personal use.

The Eclipse 500 is a single-pilot aircraft, but it can be flown with two pilots. The cockpit is equipped with a Garmin G1000 avionics suite, which includes two primary flight displays, two multifunction displays, and a Global Positioning System (GPS). The aircraft also has a weather radar, a traffic alert and collision avoidance system (TCAS), and a terrain awareness and warning system (TAWS).
