Fighting an undrawn knife versus a drawn knife are two different things. Distance, timing, intent, goal, and variables will factor in to your chances of living or dying.

Would love to see a drawn knife version for contrast.

Everybody saying Tim is a "BEAST"!!! but a dead one got stabbed 2 times in the left side of the abdomen and 1 left armpit after the guy switched the knife, the other hand, stabbed him behind the neck. All this happens in just under 10 seconds... WTF are you people saying just fucking run when someone pulls out a knife end of the story.

Proof of why mcdojolife “knife defense” dosnt work. Tim is highly trained and that looked nothing like a video of a sensei and his feeder. Its true combat. Two committed adults fighting over a weapon. Im a Corrections Officer and long ago resigned myself to the fact that if somebody wants to stick me, its gonna be a bloody dumpster fire to the end. No amount of training will make it look like a steven segal movie.

Certanly, all the normal people who haven't spent all their life training as hard as this guy couldn't survive an attack like this, which in my opinion was not as agressive as it could have been

Tim got it in the abdomen, i swear on the way down swiped the inside of his left leg "artery" Armpit after that followed by the knife switch stab to the neck. Tim died in this scuffle 😅

:-). Would like to see that redone with either Doug Mercaida, or a thousand other Filipino edged weapons specialists... Good fun, all the same though. Glad no one's head, elbows, etc. weren't busted on the concrete and, alas, ... Ok, back to Calvinism and defeating that, a much more shocking enterprise to grapple with and dismantle. God help us.

I used to train with a group who did this. They came in about 12 guys to grapple and one of them had a rubber knife. It kept you aware.

In reality if the knife wasn't drawn until after the clinch and the bjj guy is given a false sense of security it would've been deadly encounter
