Oncidium Katrin Zoch - a sweet perfumed orchid

Показать описание
Oncidium Katrin Zoch is a sympodial epiphyte orchid hybrid. It was registered in 2011 and created by M. Holm as a cross between Oncidium schroederianum and Oncidium sotoanum, making it a primary hybrid. This orchid can still be found under the name Oncidium Sharry baby yellow Flash, but that is just a commercial name and has nothing to do with the famous Sharry Baby hybrids.

Just love this orchid. I've just ordered one through Amazon, it's a flowering size plant and coming to me in the UK from a Germany Nursery. Takes about a couple of weeks so I'm excited to be getting it!! Thanks Danny👍😊

I wouldn't have guessed that this is your favorite oncidium :) I agree, it's such a cute orchid, I love the sweet flowers and the colors. To me it smells like Christmas/winter holidays/autumn/cozy fireplace. Thanks for the video :)

Hey Danny!
I enjoy your channel very much!
I recently purchased this orchid and your video really helped me to indentify it!
The link for more info is not available any more..its been 6 years, so its not surprising. Could you provide a new link?
Best regards!

Well done Danni, He's behaving very well for you, The flowers look lovely, I'd love to smell them lol,
I wish my Oncidiums would perform as well for me.
I think I have another plant about to die, my miltoniopsis ruby falls has lost her roots, And the leave are dying from the centre of the stems. This seems to be the case with most of my orchids And I have no idea why, this plant I only got in june, And it was doing very well, I know i haven't drowned it, one minute they were all fine the next they are all loosing there roots and dying, When my son get back from his hoilday I'll make a video so you can see them, maybe you'll know whats wrong before I lose my whole collection and give up, my nelly still looks good and you were right about the scent first in the morning her one little flower smell lovely very sweet, :-|

That is a beauty Danny ! Must be a tough little bugger to be flowering after dividing it and breaking off so many roots

I know this video is a few years old now, but I think I bought this orchid today. It was labeled cherry baby, but looks more like this Katrin Zoch. And it has varigated leafs. Do you know how avalible varigated orchids are? I have never seen one before. And thanks for the great videos! I learn so much about my orchids and revisit some of the orchid care videos year after year.

Sorry to bother, but I tried the info card link, and it seems that it is not working for me. It says Page Not found. I have had the Katrin Zoch in the past and loved the scent and colour and grace of the flowers, but it died on me last year! So I have bought another one and I am determined to learn more so that I can make it live! Thank you for your videos! P.S. Its scent is definitely chocolate to me, and I hope that the new one will be as chocolatey as the old one!

Hello thank you for your brilliant videos - I recently re-potted a few of my orchids that were suffering from root rot now a couple have on or 2 leaves going yellow, the rest of the plant looks ok - should I worry ?

Ah, it's lovely! I recently got one of its parents, the oncidium sotoanum, I think. Is it also called the oncidium ornithorhynchum? It looks very like this plant, and it's my new favourite!
