Here in America I have seen places closed for private events (actually got sent to one once as an Uber Eats driver) and they normally have a sign on the door saying that they're closed for a private event.

I work in a hotel, and we used to cater to a large Japanese group for several months a year. We had to rent 3 large fax machines for them every time they came down. Was pretty lulz.

Hui guo rou is very classic Chinese dish where the name ‘hui guo’ means return to pan since it’s cooked twice. It’s usually made with chillies and very simple with hints of spice, It feels off if it’s only cooked once, feels like it just doesn’t make sense?

It‘s actually pretty common here in Germany, too. It‘s called „geschlossene Gesellschaft“ which literally translates to „closed society“ though „private function“ would be the more accurate translation.
