How to Re Stuff Sofa Cushions

Friendly and fun tip! If you put the foam cushion in a plastic bag/wrap first, you can then vacuum-shrink the cushion (place the vacuum hose head in the plastic with the foam and suck the air out of it like you do when using airtight clothing storage bags). The foam will shrink down and will fit easily into the cushion cover, with no struggle. You can then turn off the vacuum and let the foam cushion re-inflate. It will slowly fill out the cushion cover and you won't have to wrestle with it to get it back on. You can then reach in and pull the plastic bag/wrapping off the foam cushion and zip up the cover. DONE! ^_^ <3 Saved my life. lol

Thank you, this is absolutely brilliant. I have reused some foam and an old pillow for stuffing and it's given my old saggy sofa a new lease of life.

May I suggest turning the cushion cover inside out and starting by placing the cover where you want it and then pull each side up little by little and u may find its easier to turn the cover inside out either way wonderful job!!!

I put pillows in the back cushions of my sofa to bulk them out & they worked a treat! Will definitely be trying foam for the seat cushions now....thank u! Was thinking of getting a new sofa but I love the one we already have so happy I can revamp it further & get some more life out of it!

This looks much simpler than I thought this would be. I’m really glad I saw your video. I was planning on pulling all of the guts out of all of the cushions 😂🤣😂

Most back cushion stuffing is in a material you could Try installing a foam piece to the back side of the cushion to prevent the lumpy look or fill it with polyfill on the back side as the front will be mostly flat. Also use cheap rubber mats from the pound shop to prevent the cushions sliding off

If you put the foam/cushion in a large plastic bag it’s much easier to get into the cover. Then pull out the plastic bag and zip up

My back cushions need all the stuffing completely replaced. Would I just put stuffing all inside or should something surround the stuffing inside the cover?
