However, due to their nature, many of these innovations are based on relatively recent research. This poses a challenge as many startups often struggle to attract investors.

"What is deep tech today isn't going to be deep tech in five or six years," says Dr. Jui Lim, CEO of SGInnovate, a wholly-owned venture capital company of the Singapore government.

In this episode of Asia's Changemakers, Dr. Lim shares that the organization is on a mission to search, fund and support early-stage frontier technologies. 💡

"A big part of our work is in educating and helping the private sector to understand the opportunities in deep tech," explained Dr. Lim. "We hope to create a mindset shift to attract more investors and talents to take the plunge with us."
