Weekly News, UFC Fight Night, Namajunas v Cortez | Pound 4 Pound with Kamaru Usman and Henry Cejudo

Before the guys get into it this week, there are a couple of recent outfits that needed to be addressed... Frozone and a nude captain America make their cases.

Then, Kamaru and Henry offer some insight into the artist's struggle, commenting in particular on Alex Pereira and Shakur Stevenson. How frustrating is it to succeed in the cage only to be met with criticism and doubt outside of it? Triple C is a master at ignoring the hate, but not everyone copes so naturally. Case in point: the hate that Kamaru got for his "30%" statement back in the day, which caused him to stay offline for a few days.

Not everyone takes a break from the internet though... enter: Shakur Stevenson's Twitter. The guys stumbled upon an "It Is What It Is" segment where hosts Mase and Cam'ron fired seven straight minutes of damage at the WBO Super Featherweight, in response to a few tweets Shakur posted earlier in the week. Kamaru and Henry offer sage words to Shakur, from the fighter's perspective. Criticism is inevitable, knowing how to ignore it, and even use it, is essential to success.

Okay - time to address Saturday Night Fight Night in Denver Colorado. Tracy Cortez is taking on Rose Namajunas and this one hits close to home.

Kamaru and Rose are old teammates, and he's seen enough power from the former UFC champion to know she can beat nearly anybody. On the flip side of that coin, Henry trains every day with Tracy Cortez out in AZ, the young star is even living with his brother as she trains for Saturday's matchup. In other words: the P4P podcast is split on Namajunas vs. Cortez.

Net Net: SOMEONE'S CRACKING AN EGG ON THEIR HEAD.

Yes, it's true. Kamaru backs Namajunas, Henry backs Cortez, and loser takes an egg to the dome.

I thought these 2 will talk about Artem Vakhitov specially Henry who is coaching him and give more updates about Artem's back and forth with Alex online recently and also talk about his MMA career future but instead they just made up a scenario where it seems like Alex got mad at them for thinking he is not p4p worthy when Alex has not even mentioned anything about them and I highly doubt he even cares about being p4p when he defends his title on 15 days notice against a killer with 97% KO rate and is the oldest and the most active champion in UFC which puts other young champions/fighters activity to shame.

Kamaru needs to check his own resume. He hasn't moved up and won any titles or even a fight. Jones is my favorite fighter but I think Alex deserves the #1 spot over everyone. If Islam moves up and beats Leon or even a top 5 fighter at 170 then we can talk. Beating someone that moved up shouldn't weigh as much as moving up yourself. He was suppose to beat Volk

Pereira is beating the guys at the very top of his division and the sport, if those guys refuse to wrestle, there is nothing Pereira can do about that..And he is saving card after card after card, there is little to critisize, obviously his game is transitioning from division to division, he's been champion of 2 divisions..

Kumaru don't know what P4P mean. Khabib not won anything by KO . He only had submission all his fights then how come he became P4P 1st after his win against Justin. Same way Alex is so good at his game and he proved against the best striker in MW and defenced LHW twice against former champs. He must be p4p 1 right now because of his activity.

Every time I hear Kamaru speak, I see how intelligent he is, he knows his shit from the perspective of a coach not just as a fighter. If he picks a fighter to win he gives such an articulate reason, and unlike other ufc/mma experts he gets em right more often
