I just came back from my first holiday to the Isle of Wight, spent 5 days here and I found it to be very cool. People were friendly and the place is beautiful.

My girlfriend worked as a receptionist in a hotel on the Isle of Wight where she was ask by English tourists if they need a passport. With her humor she answered they would also need to get a tourist visa from the Isle of White Embassy in London.

You know what guys, I worked there during my semester breaks on a farm in Arreton and as part of a kitchen staff in Sandown. I must tell you that the heritage from that period of time is the IOW radio at my place in Poland as well as this distinct, lovely southern accent when I speak English

Born on the Island, moved to London in 97, moved to Carlisle in 2018... these kids are saying all the same stuff as we all said in the early 90s... I thought the Internet would have eased the isolation feeling but it seems not... I have to say though Carlisle feels much more isolated than the Isle of Wight ever did...

I haven’t been living here for long but the main thing I’ve found is a problem is the lack of chain shops. This makes it very difficult to get certain things and some companies won’t even deliver here. The schools aren’t great but the locals as you say, are lovely.

We’ve been going there for over 20 years and every-time we plan to move there something stops us, pandemics and family bereavement but we love it so and still intend to move there, we love the beach as it’s never crowded and local peoples are chilled and friendly.. love this place🥰

I have relatives on the IOW..lots live in Newport..some in Ryde ..my late dad was born and raised on the island along with his sisters and brother who sadly are no longer there 😢.
Haven't been there for over 6 years but have fond memories of it will go back one day

I went to the Isle Of Wight with my best friend! And my mum and her best friend!! It was great!! I got to see most of the island, I stayed at rookley caravan site!

Hi, i'm Alicia and i am 17. I've lived on the isle of wight for around 10 years now and so far it has been great, the schools are good and the community is amazing. Everyone is always so nice, as you grow up the isle of wight starts to get a little boring though cos there isn't much to do because you have been to black gang chine, the needles, alum bay, and everywhere else one too many times but you can always save up enough money to go over to poltonspark or legoland, just spending the day of the isle of wight is great cos then you gt a chance to miss the isle of wight a bit. In my experience the isle of wight is a fantastic place especially for holidays, the holiday parks are amazing the entertainment is great. When i first moved over here i lived on lower hyde for about 8 years. the only thing i hate about the isle of wight is the kids that think they are cool hanging around outside McDonald's or the Newport bus station

My family and I holiday on the IOW numerous times a year, we love the Island and all it has to offer for such a small place. The Ferry journey makes it different aswell.

Mmmmm, what do I think of the Isle of Wight?
Was my home for 40 years and although I haven’t moved far away to a city I have to say that friendships are the only thing I miss. “Mainlanders” are a different breed altogether.

Have just spent two days in Ryde, and I have made the desicion to move there. What a wonderful island!!!
