Good game, although it is chaotic. I added a variation if you hit someone when you are out of the basketball court, you can come back in. The students seemed to like that.

How close can the students get to each other? Can a student just run up and hit someone with a ball or do they have to stay in designated spots

I feel that as Physical Educators we need to be teaching students games and activities that are non violent. Dodgeball is an activity that NASPE has condemned. Also we should always refer to ourselves and Physical Educators and not "Gym" teachers. To be taken seriously as professionals and as profession, changes need to be made.
