A lot of places don’t charge for bags but the reason places do is to encourage you to bring reusable bags for the environment so if your area doesn’t charge for bags and you thought this was universal hope this helps

In ontario, canada they dont have plastic bags at all. 3 options. Bring ur own. Pay $0.40 for a resuable regular sized canvass bag. Or $1+ for a bigger resuable bag. Miss the plastic FREE bags!!!

Where I live in Canada there are no plastic bags available in stores. They are extremely wasteful, everyone carries their own reusable cloth bags that you can keep forever.

Theres been a plastic bag charge in my country for at least 20 years now. The difference it makes to the landscape is amazing. People can be carelessly filling carrier bags with rubbish and dumping them, and small bags can end up on the wind and litter everywhere.

I drive across the boarder to a state that doesn’t charge for bags. $.08 isn’t gonna break me, but the prices are better over there too. 50 cents less for gas as well.
