Unique early childhood Dubai Nursery settings for babies from 45 days and young children up to 3+ years. Yellow Brick Road Nursery and Crystal Valley Nursery, since 2001, owned and managed by founding partner Ms. Bernadette King-Turner uphold an exceptional and distinctive approach to early learning care and education.

Thanks to the online information highway, today’s Nursery parents can be well informed and up-to-date with the latest developments and research of Early Years Practice. Both Yellow Brick Road Nursery and Crystal Valley Nursery welcome and encourage their Nursery parents to be actively engaged in partnerships with their children’s Nursery days and to be ‘in the moment’ with their children’s learning.

The Nursery’s early years (methodology) EYFS pedagogy is inspired with Reggio Emilia approach to learning and development, valuing the child as strong, capable, and resilient; rich in wonder and knowledge. It ignites, inspires and nurtures a genuine love for learning while having a profound respect for formation of positive relationships and nature.

The role of the adults involves careful and sensitive listening, observation, documentation and reflection, working alongside children as resources and guides to support children’s research, learning and development. Immense emphasis is placed on the quality of the physical environment and the resources that are provided to support, inspire and challenge children’s learning process, enriching their growing ‘sense of self’ in relation to others and to their environment.

The children are encouraged with this positive and empowering approach of Reggio Emilia, along with a strong partnership with parents and community, to create their own theories about the world around them through collaboration with others, scaffolding their personal interests, learning to listen to and respect each other feelings. They are viewed as capable communicators with abilities to express their own ideas and points of view through a variety of languages of expression.

At Yellow Brick Road Nursery and Crystal Valley Nursery, an innovation process is part of their daily classroom provisions where children along with their teachers revisit the projects that they have created in a new and exciting way. “Children are encouraged to dream it, think about it, plan it, do it on their own and review it,“ says Bernadette King-Turner, the founding partner of the nurseries.

What unique initiatives have you undertaken to enhance learning outcomes of pupils?
We, at Crystal Valley and Yellow Brick Road Nurseries provide real-life-style classroom furniture for purposeful p¬¬lay as it is the central learning experience in early learning plus the most natural and enduring way of learning that supports reality learning with creativity and imagination.
How do you ensure children are as engaged as possible during lessons?
We encourage, inspire and support individual children’s interest by providing open-ended, mostly natural resources that provoke children’s explorations, investigation and discoveries.
How can innovation in early learning positively impact students?
An innovation process is part of our daily classroom provision during which the children with their teachers revisit the children’s projects in a new and exciting way. Children are encouraged to ‘dream’ it, ‘thinking’ it, ‘plan’ it, ‘do it’ and ‘review it’.
