For everyone saying “this looks painful” - don’t worry too much!! I have one leg that’s shorter than another and have had a procedure similar to this many times. You don’t feel the actual lengthening because of how slowly it’s done (as little as a millimeter per day). It’s really more so the nerves/tendons/muscles stretching that might hurt. Procedures like these are v e r y carefully monitored, and not as medieval/torturous/dangerous as they seem - they’re really helpful and important for people with shorter legs/toes/whatever who don’t want to amputate but still need to move about safely and easily.
