Tailors Tacks or Tacking [TT] are used to transfer information from one layer of fabric or pattern piece to one or several layers beneath the top layer. It leaves no lasting marks on any of the fabric and conveys information that is temporary in nature.
There are different applications and strategies for marking with TT's from sewing lines of seams and darts, gathering and pleating, for crease or fold lines, and other marking informaiton.
