I lived one block from Shelby in the sixties when I was a student at Santa Monica College, but lived near him in Playa del Rey, CA. He would drive either a 65-66 fastback Shelby or Cobra to his LAX facility and I would rush out and watch him drive by since the exhaust gave an early warning. While at SMC I called the Shelby office and they loaned me the 66 fastback Shelby prototype with new rear quarter windows and first automatic transmission for the SMC homecoming parade weekend. Later, in 1970, upon returning from Vietnam, I bought a 1965 Mustang convertible, converted it to a Shelby clone over the years and still have it in Florida. I never met him in the neighborhood, but later met him at SAAC conventions. Long live the Shelby name!

Jay does such great interviews, I love that he and Damon were sitting on the hood of the Mustang.

I worked for Carroll, in the early 2000's, and let me tell you, he was just a pleasure to work for. I couldn't wait to get to work in those days, he was the best employer anyone could ask for, along with Vince, my favorite best boss ever.

"Carroll Shelby - a man who could talk a dog off a meat truck!" Love that analogy! RIP Carroll Shelby.

As a proud owner of a Shelby GT500 and proud member of Team Shelby I had the honor and privilege to meet Mr Shelby back in 2007. He was so down to earth and fun to chat with. RIP Mr Shelby you are truly missed.

I am proud to day I knew him, I once was a partner in a Shelby dealership and talked to him several times.
He was a genuine person, down to earth and amazed at his success.

The driver that first taped a wrench to his steering wheel was Sir Jackie Stewart

Jay Leno and Matt Damon two things that fuel Jimmy Kimmel's nightmares.

That Ford GT looks amazing. I used to own a Sunbeam Tiger with the small block Ford V8 engine.

It’s funny. You see clearly when Jay Leno meets an “ important “ guest he is all of a sudden full of energy knows exactly what to say etc. Other times he is almost falling asleep 😂😂😂

Jackie Stewart was the driver who taped the wrench to the steering wheel.

Ford vs Ferrari was to me, the movie of the Decade! Superbly acted. Fantastically authentic details. Lovely film. Kept me at the edge of my seat in 4D. And without even realising it I was planting my right foot into the carpet in those racing scenes.
