some of the same arguements were said about women, and about gay people. but, there has been no break down of the military. and there was no break down of it from older transexuals who have served and paid for their own operation. if anyone is fit to serve physically, and they don't have major health issues they should be allowed to serve regardless of gender or sexual orientation. however, i do agree taxpayers and the military shouldnt pay for the hormone treatment and sex reassignment. we can not dictate what any soldier does with his own pay. so, if he seeks to do this stuff not involving the military directly... and they seek other ways to pay for such things using their own salary. that's their right.... and they should be able to serve. also, you people are creating mass hysteria with this notion that the service is going to flooded with transgenders. simply won't be true. just like normal people. not all people have the desire to join the service. i mean not every str8 person has enlisted, not every gay person, not every woman has enlisted either
