Lmao, as a fanfic writer, sometimes that happens to us too in the editing process. I scratch my head, trying to figure out what past me was thinking, and then usually decide the scene needs a rewrite. Even the authors get this issue.

This is why I try to specify what the position is as much as possible without breaking the scene also, I totally know that comedian! XD

I actually read a fic recently where the author got so many confused comments about the position the characters were in she ended up doodling a stick figure diagram for it.

i think the reason of this for me is because i ALWAYS imagine the bed in a different placement in the room than what the author imagined, and they of course never explained the fengshui of how the bed is placed. so when i get to the smut part, the left, the right, the head and the feet are in completely different places than they were supposed be and i have to figure them out like a rubik's cube

I've been reading smut for years and still do so very often, and still have this problem all the time
