SRCDS - Sourcemod/Metamod - Part 3: Installing metamod / sourcemod (install, admins, plugins & more)

My new updated srcds tutorial series covering sourcemod / metamod.

We have done 2 / 4 of the basics tutorials, and this time we will install metamod and sourcemod. We will also set you up as an admin, we will take a look at the plugins that ship with Sourcemod, and get an overview of how the addons work.

@hankmanGTA Most of these things can be configured under your sourcemod/plugins folder. If you for instance want to enable rtv check your plugin folder and make sure that rockthevote.smx isnt in the disabled folder. If it is just move it out into Sourcemod/plugins and it will be activated. basetriggers.smx controls phrases like nextmap, thetime etc. basevotes.smx is for mapvoting etc. Betting you need a addon for..

Hi Dawn! I would like to start from the desktop to the SRCDS, but when it comes to the console writes out "srcds.exe stopped functioning, " and I did everything exactly like you! The more quickly you please answer me! Yeah, and one more thing. you should write it in the console when you start your srcds.exe in connection to the steam servers? (I also bought a Steam game, but it will not print)

When i type meta list into console it says No plugins loaded. But still my plugins folder contains same plugins as yours but i have rock the vote plugin. what sould i do my Master?

@dranzender91 If you type in meta list in the server console and it dosnt work, then youve failed to installed metamod correctly. Did you remember to make your vdf file and put it in the correct place?

so i test metamod and its there, how do i execute source mod? after server start up im fairly certain i have to add exec " " to my server.cfg but idk what im executing

That is most likely due to a outdated plugin. Make sure you have latest metamod sourcemod, and if it still crashes disable one addon at the time to see which addon is causing the crash, or activate crashlogs in your server.cfg.

BloodDawnSWE i have watched all your videos regarding this server installation, and it seems that with every single type of mod i install on the server it wont load the plugins, so when i type meta list it says

No plugins loaded. and i did it exactly like you did, please help :(

i have been spending my entire weekend to try and fix this server and it doesnt seem to work in any way, but i was wondering if you couldnt send me a copy of your server, and i could simply edit the configs.

My guess would be that you installed either metamod or sourcemod incorrectly. Type "installing Metamod:Source" into google and the first link should take you to the installation guide I used. It took me a few tries to get it all working. Good luck man.

sm_hosties isnt working, i think i know how to fix this but i forgot ? its like making a folder and its has exec or something and then i add file name i forgot can u help

Hey, I'm running a half life dedicated server for TF2, but for some reason I can't load any plugins. When I type "sm plugins load" into my server console, I get the error message "Can't load in multiplayer games". Can anyone tell me how to fix this and enable plugins to be loaded on my dedicated server?
