This American Midwest boy grew up on this, but we called it "hotdish, " not goulash. I realized I had most of the ingredients so I gave it a go tonight, except I subbed jalapeno for the green pepper. I haven't had this since I was a kid, it was very nostalgic. Miss you, mom.

I'm sure it's delicious. All the ingredients sound good, i would try it. However, as a hungarian, I can tell you that it has nothing to do with goulash (except the beef itself). It is interesting to see how recipes change completely (italian seasoning... cheese....pasta...souce) :D let's call it hungarian mac and cheese.

I just do everything besides adding the peppers & their seasonings. I just use sauce from a can & then doctor it with garlic salt, garlic powder, & oregano. I also just ground up the beef & noodles separately. Add them together when done & add your seasonings then cheese 😅

This is mac and beef. It has absolutely nothing to do with goulash in any way. It does look tasty though.

Don't get me wrong, this does look pretty good and I'd absolute try some but yeah as everyone else has already said it's about as close to actual goulash as it is to a grilled cheese sandwich!

Lmao…everyone so mad in these comments 😂 I would have called this hamburger macaroni but if you added frozen mixed veggies, it was called goulash. I get that it may not be authentic, but it’s what we were raised calling it. It looks delicious whatever name it goes by…😂
