I was never a fan of Mamun as a gymnast, but I love this movie and I love Rita‘s personality. She seems to be a warmhearted, sensitive person and I‘m so happy for her Olympic Gold!

She actually says not "total wreck", but "shit". Not "go to hell", but "fuck you". The expresstions of Irina Viner are much harder than they are traslated into English.

I watched it yesterday. The filming is insane, yet there is no narrative you can feel all of the emotions of Rita so deeply. I was shocked and did not expect the coaches to be like that. This is physical and mental abuse

I always wondered why she looked so sad like she was dead inside when she performed and now I know why. This was difficult to watch the poor girl. I'm so glad she won the gold medal, a massive middle finger up to those abusive coaches. Her papa stayed to see her take the gold and for her to get back before he passed away 😪. Im hope she's much happier now 💜

iTunes now has it. I bought it and watched it yesterday. Highly recommend. It is stunning, heartbreaking and breathtaking. Probably one of my favourite documentaries of all time. Beautifully filmed.

These subtitles are so diluted. The coaches swore and insulted her with words like "Sh*t and b*tch" and yet she took it all in like a champion.

Rita was always my favorite. The one that would shine when it mattered the most. That's what she showed us in Rio. However, this docu showed people what RG is like. Being a sports journalist, you simply know the reality of different sports. However it will never stop being heartbreaking to see how she was mistreated, same as many others before and after her. They all deserve so much more and all of this should never be the cost of a medal. The human being, the athlete matters most. More than any gold. That being said, I believe that Rita will be an amazing coach, I've seen the impressions after her masterclasses and she's just so warm and kind... Everything she knows those girls need. Everything she almost never had.

Holly shit....She is always sweet, gentle and fragile but the moment she took those two breaths before entering she was a beast ready to roar...

The translation is accurate, but also it doesn't capture the feeling, the mood of original words. They're very harsh and rude, dismissive, undervaluing... So, it feels more as "Whiplash of sport documentaries" than "Black Swan"...

As a Gymnast, I know the feeling of having a tough coach yelling cursing you most of the time. But your body and mind is just too numb and your determination is second to none. Words dont matter to you anymore

"You are not a human, you are a sportsman" ... Harsh as this sounds, I remember this from the documentary and I take it as my motto, I have beaten my limits, I have beaten cancer, and I am still ready to fight, no matter what. Be strong, people!

Great film but I kinda feel bad for Yana. She deserves her own movie like this too!

I think the right translation for the first lines would be:
- My body is a bit relaxed.. Legs are tired.
- It doesn't matter. You need to be in a good state of mind.

I felt her pain in this. Those coaches are emotionally abusive! Really awful! It makes me really worry for all young athletes like her.

it seems that someone in the heavens knew what kind of hell Margarita had gone through and helped her to get the Gold Olympic medal in Rio.
