Yes, a relationship with God is the missing link in too many men's lives. I began to see a shift back in 2008. I was a writing professor at an HBCU in NC. That year, the university was not closed on Good Friday. So, unlike many of my colleagues, I decided to hold class. Of course, only about four students were present. At the end of class, one of my male students lingered. He approached me and said, "Dr. Anderson, why do we celebrate Easter?" I didn't show it, but I was shocked. It gave me a wonderful opportunity to briefly share the story and purpose of Christ though. I'll never forget him, but I remember thinking, "This is the first generation of Black students who did not grow up in the church." I think we're seeing the repercussions of that, now. As Tony says, "We need to know God." All of us.

For some time now I have been repeatedly praying and sometimes begging for someone to change. I know from firsthand experience that Jesus can change your heart and life in ways unexplainable! Yet when dealing with a narcissist, change is so very rare.. mainly because the ego and not being able to put Christ above self and recognize the need for him.. still praying though, always will 🙏🏼 Although hope deferred makes the heart sick

The truth you shared with your son is priceless, esp since you walk the walk. However; I grew up in a low-income family, God blessed us out of that poverty, but I would listen to anyone speaking knowledge and wisdom into my life regardless of their status, I have gotten some of the best advice of my life from older people living in subsidized housing, wasn't no silver spoons just raw real life and that's priceless as well.
