People don't understand why they got an award. Look up any cop video and you'll see people getting threatened, harassed, beaten, and even murdered. They could have belittled this young man and told him they had actual important things to do. Instead, they helped him out. It's not the act of tying the tie, it's the kindness and compassion they showed to a young man who was on his way to get an education and needed a little help.

I keep finding myself coming back to videos like these. Cops like these used to be more common, cops who actually were a part of the community as a whole. I heard back in the day they used to patrol neighborhoods and meet and greet people and stuff.

What happened to those days?
