#Turncoat is the theme to the #UnusAnnus project, by #Markiplier (Mark Fischbach) and #CrankGameplays (Ethan Nestor-Darling). The idea behind Unus Annus was to publish daily videos for a year, after which all videos—along with the Unus Annus channel—would be deleted from the internet, never to be seen again. This idea was intended to show the fragility and temporary nature of digital media while also highlighting the temporary nature of life. The beautiful foreboding music of Turncoat by Michael Rothery was a perfect way of framing the feeling behind the channel.
