The intro with the ‘unsolved mysteries’ playing in another room sound was brilliant

I grew up in the suburbs next to Resurrection cemetery . The story I heard growing up was she got into an argument with her boyfriend on prom night ( hence the long white dress) and she got out of his car on Archer ave. where shortly thereafter was hit and killed by a car. She was buried in Resurrection cemetery. The iron gated bars of the cemetery entrance were bent, I personally saw this . they were bent as if someone pulled them apart. NOT lying. supposedly she would leave the cemetery and hitchhike because she was trying to get home.. when the driver would turn to ask here where she lives ....she was gone. My favorite part that is not often talked about is that there is a bar across the street from the cemetery Chet's Melody Lounge I drank there when I was younger. The owner always had a bloody Mary at the end of the bar, for Mary if she ever wanted to stop by. This is also true I've seen it. No I've never seen her. Great Video, Thanks!

My parents bar is right across the street from resurrection cemetery; Chet’s melody lounge. My grandpa opened in 1965 and my dad took over in 1980. We often have ghost tours come in and actually had the producers of ghost adventures come out. We’re very haunted but many mediums have told us they’re all friendly, just lost. Archer rd/ave used to be a Native American trail so lots of people traveled it. We actually have a ghost named Ben in our basement who passed from a campfire on our property when he pulled off the trail to relax, he stays because he likes all the people who come into the bar. That’s what the mediums have told us anyway.

I almost threw my phone hearing the unsolved mysteries intro. That man haunted my dreams. 😂😂

My uncle actually saw her once around Archer and Harlem back in 1975. He was shocked at what he was seeing snd it didn’t occur to him right away what he saw. There were other witnesses that day as well.

Chicago is a city near and dear to my heart. Resurrection Mary, as well as Bachelors Grove cemetery, are iconic local lore. Thank you for profiling it

17:12 STOP that actually scared me, hearing a prayer in Polish slowed and pitched down while watching a video in English, caught me so off guard ✋🏻

I absolutely love urban legends and terrifying local lore. One that’s not super far from me, and that’s pretty well known is The Bell Witch story. It was the first ghost story to keep me up at night as a kid and while I’m highly skeptical of 99% of the details now, it holds such a soft spot in my heart.

My dad swears he encountered her when he was younger. Resurrection cemetery does have a creepy vibe.

Grew up in Chicago, never met Mary personally but everyone heard the stories growing up. Awesome that you're covering it!

First off, Unsolved Mysteries was a great show, back when times were simpler. It sucks that people dress up and fake her, kinda makes one think it was always a hoax. Whatever started at 17:12, I sure hope it has something to do with a future case. That was straight-up frightening. Great episode as always. I'm personally good with whatever you put out there, just not a huge alien fan, but I'm sure they are out there.

Unsolved Mysteries was where I first heard of Mary! Scarred me as a kid. In fact, of all the episodes I saw, this was the one that stuck with me the most. I'm glad to see someone else talking about it 😊

Thank you for creating this video on Resection Mary. I grew up in the suburbs of Chicago, approximately 45 min away. And this story is something that pun intended to haunt me to this day. The eerie details and chilling atmosphere still send shivers down my spine. Every time I hear the name, I can't help but feel a mix of fear and fascination. It's a story that lingers in the back of my mind, especially on dark, foggy nights. The tale of Resection Mary resonates deeply with me because it was a popular local legend during my childhood. Friends would often dare each other to visit the supposed haunting sites, and the fear of encountering Mary herself was palpable. These experiences have left an indelible mark on my psyche, blending childhood curiosity with genuine terror.

I loved this! Thank you so much. Poor Mary. Destined to wander the streets. At least she's in her best frock though. 😊 The part where you described the women in the car seeing her as she stood there glowing actually made me shiver. Back in 1995, my friend and I were driving home from a pub on the Isle of Wight and we saw two glowing figures standing completely still, side by side at the side of the road. The video footage you showed to depict the "glowing" Mary was so like what my friend and I saw. Only our figures had no clothes or hair that we could see, just two golden glowing bodies. The place we saw them was and is an accident black spot and we wondered if they were the spirits of people who had been killed in an accident. We turned the car around and drove back to see if they were still there but they had gone. My friend told me later that when he got home, he told his Mum about it, and she repiled, "Oh yes, I've seen them" 😮😮😮 Keep up the good work, Mr Tape Library, I love these spooky tales and more would be just superb. Thank you!!!❤

Born and raised in Chicago. Resurrection Mary and Bachelor's Grove Cemetery are two well known regional urban legends. Probably nothing to either one accept fun stories.

I think resurrection Mary has finally crossed over. Nobody has seen her in a long time.

there is a relatively well-known ghost in the small Story Inn in Story, Indiana. apparently, she is friendly and can be summoned in her former bedroom, which is now available to rent, by turning off all the lights but the blue-tinted one left on the bedside table.
