The forests of the NSW south coast are shooting green new leaves, but the future of many communities here is uncertain.

The residents of Kiah, an isolated hamlet near the NSW-Victorian border in Australia, live on the edge of vast tracts of eucalyptus. Bushfires destroyed most of the town's 73 houses during Black Summer of 2019/20. And18 months on, only a handful of dwellings are being rebuilt - many are still living in sheds and caravans.

That's awful especially if the place has lots of sentimental value and memories. Blessings from Scotland. 🙏🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🌹

It also doesn't help that people flick cigarette buts that aren't properly out, and young ones not putting camp fires out and then you have the people that just like lighting fires. Blessings to the folks living there. 🙏🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🌹
