As a former engineer, it would shake me to my soul when a person was acting erratically around the train I was operating. It could be fooling around, or someone with a challenging personality disorder. I once saw one more "ultimate" than that. A number of us were waiting at Orcutt Road in San Luis Obispo, CA for the Southern Pacific 4449 engine to come into town northbound. They had a diesel engine IN FRONT of the steam engine. A fanatically foamer had a total conniption fit. He was jumping up and down waving his arms and screaming at the top of his lungs, "THEY RUINED IT !!!! WHY DID THEY DO THAT !!! THEY RUINED IT !!!!"
