FOUNDATIONS OF RIGHTEOUSNESS PART 1
Text: 2 Timothy 2 vs 19, Micah 6 vs 2, Jeremiah 50 vs 14 - 16

OBJECTIVES

• To understand the role of foundations in life and destiny.

INTRODUCTION

Foundations are very critical to life and destiny. The most important and most fundamental part of every construction is the foundation. The quality of every foundation determines the quality of the construction. Everywhere the foundation is compromised the construction has been compromised. Foundations determines the following for the structure:

• Foundations determine the strength of structures.
• Foundations determines durability and stability of structure.
• Foundations determines stature/height.
• Foundations determines the future or destiny of structure.

As this is in the physical, so it is in the spiritual and in destiny. If the foundation is challenged; then the construction will be challenged.

As we have seen the necessity of foundations to life and destiny, it's important that we build our lives on strong Godly foundations in two ways... Ezra 6 vs 3

• We must lay foundations of righteousness for our life and destiny... Psalm 11 vs 3
• We must lay foundations on scriptural standards... Luke 6 vs 47 - 49.

TYPES OF FOUNDATIONS

• The Foundation of Childhood. Children must be raised on the foundations of righteousness... Proverbs 22 vs 6
(1) Abuse must be avoided at all costs. Most children have problems in their adult life as a result of what happened to them in their childhood.
(2) Exposure to evil must be avoided at all cost.
(3) Bad character display before children and at any time must be avoided.

• The Foundation of education. Educational pursuit must be carried out with integrity... Psalm 7 vs 14 - 16.
(1) Exam malpractice must be avoided at all cost. You can never build a future on a lie.
(2) Forgeries of certificates or results must be avoided at all cost.
(3) Money or immorality for marks must be avoided at all cost.

• The Foundation of career and destiny. If a career must have a future, it must be laid on Godly foundations... Proverbs 3 vs 5 - 6.
(1) Bribery to secure a job must be avoided at all cost.
(2) Compromise to get or keep jobs must be avoided.
(3) False declaration of age to get jobs must be completely avoided.
(4) Fake certificates to secure a job must be avoided at all cost.

• The Foundation of marriage and family. The marriage must be established on Godly and righteous foundations... Hebrews 13 vs 4
(1) Premarital sex must be avoided at all cost.
(2) Lies and falsehood must be avoided at all cost.
(3) Genuine love must be confirmed. Don't ever marry a person because of what you think they can do for you.
(4) God must be in the picture.

CONCLUSION:

• The future is in complete Jeopardy if the foundation is not in order. Do it right the first time because it's easier to do the right thing than to correct a wrong deed. It is easier to uphold principles than to correct consequences. Like how it is easier to groom a child than to repair an adult.
• It is not possible to end at the right place by following the wrong way. Destiny is never in view where principles are out of place. Where possible, wrong foundations must be corrected for the security of the future.
