Thanks to you, through watching this channel for a very long time, I had the AC die on my car, and I was able to diagnose the problem, first I checked power, relays, compressor, used a good ol thermometer and only found a 5°C difference, obviously low on freon and I checked the condensor and lo and behold ⅓ of the fins are gone 😂😂

Thanks for teaching us, big picture diagnosis is always awesome and I use it probably every day.

Chris your a hell of a Tech. I have been in the field here in Massachusetts and learn little tricks from you all the time. Much appreciated taking the time to make these thorough videos.

Another fine example of why preventative maintenance is so important. Definitely explains the tripped pressure switch and why nothing else but the pressure switch was causing issues.

At that ambient, under rare circumstances, if there is a dust devil or gusts from a thunderstorm that cause air to enter the back of the condensing unit, the fans can't move air across the coil. I've seen mini splits throw a code and lock out especially when set perpendicular to prevailing winds.

I had a real head scratcher just yesterday. A make table that has a semi open top (randell) that the top was not pulling down to temp but the heat coming off of the condenser was high. I looked over the system and the only thing I could think of was that there was more heat getting into the suction through the cork tape that some previous company had put on the suction line leaving the pressure line exposed. Removed the cork tape, I agree with You on this that cork tape sucks to remove, and put both suction and pressure lines together inside some 1/2 inch thick insulation tube. Temps proceeded to drop down to a good point for product. Never thought about it that much but most randell make tables before R290 were setup that way with R404. Thanks for the videos

Hi Chris, enjoy your show. I am a DSM for a refrigeration manufacturer and find what you do extremely helpful. Nowadays, I usually get a few calls regarding this matter exactly. Most customer will switch to auto-reset or adjust to 425psi if possible. Question for you, what are you seeing and saying to your customers regarding the new CARB regulations and the new proposals from SNAP? When I talk with most techs and design engineers they don’t seem to know about the new regulations or when CARB comes into effect.
