At the end, that unit of Infernal Guard should've adopted a square formation, that way it would've been able to rotate much faster, maybe allowing it to get some shots into the Coatl.

Coatl are very annoying for chorfs since only blunderbusses kill them decently fast, but the bound spells from them and slann essentially forces any chorf gunners to move, which gives them an opportunity to close in. The dreadquake train saw some use in the previous patch too. The thing that makes it strong is that it can fire the artillery shots at point blank range. If enemies clump up in front of it, the dreadquake shot annihilates basically every units with more than 16 modelcount.

Don't play multiplayer but would it help to put a unit or two in a locked group with the coatl for the beginning of the battle so that they move at the same speed. Something like an ancient salamander or something similar speed. Be a bit of a suprise to the opponent. Would be funny to see a dread saurian appear out of nowhere and not be focus fired before it got into contact.
