Hong Kong Film Photography | Night Walk with Neon Lights | Cinestill800t + Fujifilm Venus800

Hey all, hope everyone is keeping well!

Decided to head out one night to Kowloon side of Hong Kong to try capture as many neon lights as I could before they all slowly get taken down due to safety concerns.

Since it was night time I opted to shoot with two different 800 speed film stocks on my Canon A1 - Cinestill800T and Fuji Venus 800. Both returned some great shots with the Venus having a slightly more natural look but obviously lacking the iconic halation effect you get with the Cinestill film. Definitely a cool film stock to shoot with though and coupled with the Neon lights, it looks great!

If you haven't shot around Hong Kong at night, do yourself a favour and get out there before all these iconic lights are replaced with LED signs or taken down for good.

Hope you enjoyed the video and pictures. Feel free to drop a comment with some feedback!

These are all amazing! Were you using a tripod? I want to take pictures at night with a 800 iso film but I'm still a bit worried about doing it handheld, do you think I would have any problems?

Hi. Im quite new in film photography. When using an ISO 800 film indoors, is there still a need to use camera flash? 😊

What’s wrong with the quality of video? Why it’s only in 360p?
