When my mother married my stepdad he adopted me and my bother let us have his last name I was 5.

When I got older I HATED that last name. We didn’t get along. And the only way to remove that name is break ties with him legally. So legally he is not my father anymore.

So now I have my birthname back. I always felt some type of way that my mom let me have his last name when my father was still alive at that point in time
