If you take too long to do this mission, John will just do it for you. I got distracted doing side quests that when I finally got around to doing this, John was like, “Did you forget?” And I was like, “No, just busy, but my bad :/.”

I legit couldn’t get the wagon then watched this video and was like “wow it’s really that easy isn’t it” so hell, I tried it and couldn’t believe I actually made it to the wagon. I was sprinting to it, got in, and was like GO GO GO GO GO GO and for some reason the witnesses bar never showed up so literally everything worked out. I was laughing my head off afterwards

The oilwagons actualy leave the station. Much easier to steal them from the road (only one or two guards). One of them is heading towards Valantine. Just wait a little bit, check your map, and they are marked yellow. You can also sell oilwagons to Shamus the fence at Emerald Ranch for $50 each.

Fastest way to do this is shoot from a very far distance using a rifle close to the horses of the wagon, the horses will start to go out of the factory and there will only be some people that will chase you since they won't know your location.

They are supposed to be on a freaking schedule but the damn wagons won’t move

Everytime I turn around to shoot, the horses decide to run into shit.

SUPER EASY. Simply snipe from a hill, on horseback and kill the closest guard to the wagon. The horses will run off pulling the wagon behind. Chase after it and jump from your horse to the wagon. You may have to kill a few guards who chase you on horseback. DONE

The dumbest mission so far that I've seen. Who in their right mind would steal a oil wagon from a heavily guarded area with heavily armed guards.

I really hate this mission. I died like 5 times until I get it right. Then I encountered a cornwall oil wagon being delivered with only two passengers, no guards, in the wild while I was hunting.

Wear a mask, you'll be recognized anyway.
Try to sneak up on guards, you can't.
Try to sneak out with the wagon, they'll see you anyway.
Basically, everything the game teaches you is pure crap when it comes to scripted events.

I tried walking up and taking it, but the blew up the tanker by shooting it!!!

Edit: wait till night, kill some horses with a bow from far away (so the guard can't Chase you), take it and run and pray they don't blow you up

You can also just shoot randomly at the refinery, when the guards start to fire back the horses pulling the wagons will take off, much easier

I passed it on my 5th attempt. Got over the fence like in the video, there was only one guard who spotted me from behind the fence however, jumped directly on the wagon and drove away as fast as I could. The guard was still just giving me warnings without shooting, no alarm, no chasing. One thing which I couldn't understand was when I got this mission one of the wagons stood in a small place outside of their facility and there was only one guard around. I simply couldn't get on the wagon for a whatever reason and then the guard drove it away to this location.

I just waited like you did for the perfect opportunity, climbed to the wagon, ran for my life. Wasn't even wanted, I was too fast for them. Had to shoot a couple of them on the way but thanks for the video, really helpful, I was kinda desperate..

I am laughing my ass off reading the comments. I just went front gate, the guard told me to fuck off so i went 5 m to the right and jumped the fence and went straight for the wagon. Nobody bothered to chase me.
