Thanks for taking one for the team! For years I’ve had problems with setting my saddles, trying different saddles, etc. Almost cancelled my attempt to ride the GDMBR this past May because of lingering issues. I read somewhere that for most saddles, most manufacturers will have the “sweet spot” or portion where your sit bones are supposed to be sitting on at 120mm from the rear of the saddle. I experimented with that by putting the center of the clamp 120mm from the rear and not focusing so much on my reach (550mm nose to bar). It worked for my Ergon SMC Pro and Brooks C-17. BUTT you should probably stick with your SQLab saddle…you know what’s right for you!

I totally understand your pain. I fear my Specialized Power Comp is not going to be a Deathride Saddle. My 14 year old Specialized Avatar seemed to support me well. Anyway, I enjoy your video content.

George in pain? I was hoping Drill Sgt Vargas was gonna come out of retirement and show me a whole new world of colorful language 😝

Bless you George for reviewing different saddles...esp on a century.

George, it’s called a lanyard. I have a lanyard on my Garmin which is mounted to the FR300 which is then attached to the mount.
What I’ve found out is that the bib is more the issue than the saddle for me. Also you might want to look at investing in a Garmin radar/light. I don’t ride without it. Nice videos !!!

Some rides are better than others😅
What about your Berthoud saddle? Still ok or for sale also?

I only have four SQ lab saddles so my bikes without get the rides that match how long I can stand the particular saddle. Two hours up to four. Any longer and I’ll ride an sq equipped bike for sure. 😅

Sorry it was sooo miserable. Did SMP saddles work?

Often it’s not the saddle, but the angle and position, but that Ritchie does look to have sharp edges
