September is Blood Cancer Awareness Month

September is #bloodcancerawarenessmonth. Dr Amy DeZern, Director of the Bone Marrow Failure and MDS Program at the Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center says that we are in the middle of a blood shortage and that donating blood and platelets can really help those currently undergoing treatment for these cancers. She also recommends participation in clinical trials to help move research into these diseases forward and improve the care options for patients.
