They should try warm pineapple upside-down cake, with some vanilla ice cream. :) Yum!

Pineapple upside-down cake is made by putting several rings of pineapple [typically with maraschino cherries in the center] in the bottom of a buttered baking dish or casserole dish, along with brown sugar, then layering cake batter on top of that. Then it's all cooked until the cake is done. Then the cake is taken out, and flipped over so the pineapple rings and caramelized brown sugar are on top. So, it's baked "upside down" and then flipped "right-side up." and we tend to have warm cakes and pies with cold ice cream (often vanilla). They go well together. Just have to eat fairly quickly before all the ice cream melts. ;)

Pineapple Upside Down Cake is good. Also, I like pineapple cut into small pieces and mixed with cottage cheese. It isn't actually a dessert but is good.

Cheesecake with pineapple jam topping is pretty good! More about the cheesecake than the topping, but the combination is wonderful.

My Grandmother Used To Make A Dessert That Was Very Similar, , But Instead Of The Biscuits (Cookie) Crumbs, , She Added Chopped Macadamia Nuts, , Shredded Coconut & Whipped Cream On Top.

looks so delicious! glad they enjoyed! I'm glad I'm not there, but if I were and a pakistani citizen (and it were vegan), I'd still eat if even if I'm allergic and then go to the public hospital for anaphylactic shock so I don't die 😂 worth it! xP

My favorite dessert with this fruit is Pineapple Upside Down Cake.
I haven't done any baking in a while due to ill health, so I hinted to my daughter to make one for my upcoming birthday.
I hope she got my clue.

One of the gentlemen asked us what our favorite pineapple dish is. Mine is "Hummingbird Cake" - no humming birds in it, however and I never add the bananna to mine as I only like bananas in limited ways, , usually only raw, tthey, in my opinion, get too sweet when cooked. I just add extra pineapple to mine instead of a bananna or w/e it calls for (2 banannas, maybe?)

Here's the recipe in case you cannot locate, but are interested:

Hummingbird Cake
Ingredients For the cake
Nonstick vegetable spray
All-purpose flour, for pans
1.5 cups self-rising flour 3 cups self-rising flour
1 cup granulated sugar 2 cups granulated sugar
3/8 cup vegetable oil 3/4 cup vegetable oil
1/4 cup finely chopped pecans 1/2 cup finely chopped pecans
1 very ripe smaller banana, mashed 2 very ripe large bananas, mashed
4 oz. can crushed pineapple, with juice 1 (8-ounce) can crushed pineapple, with juice
1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4t 1/4t clove
1/4t 1/4t Nutmeg
1/4t 1/4t allspice
1/8t cardamom 1/4t cardamom
2 large eggs, beaten 4 large eggs, beaten

For the frosting
8 oz. confectioners' sugar 1 pound (1 box) confectioners' sugar
4 ounces cream cheese, room temperature 8 ounces cream cheese, room temperature
3 Ts (3/4 stick) unsalted butter, softened 6 Ts (3/4 stick) unsalted butter, softened
1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1t milk, or more if needed 1 tablespoon milk, or more if needed
1/4 cup finely chopped pecans 1/2 cup finely chopped pecans

Directions
Step 1: Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Spray and flour three 8-by-2-inch round cake pans, tapping out excess flour; set aside.

Step 2: Prepare the cake; in a large bowl, stir to combine self-rising flour, sugar, oil, pecans, bananas, pineapple, vanilla, cinnamon, and eggs.

Step 3: Divide batter evenly between prepared pans, smoothing with an offset spatula. Bake, rotating pans halfway through, until the tops spring back when gently pressed with your fingertips, 26 to 28 minutes.

Step 4: Transfer pans to a wire rack to cool 10 minutes. Invert cakes onto wire rack. Re-invert cakes and let them cool completely, top sides up.

Step 5: Prepare the frosting; in the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, combine sugar, cream cheese, butter, vanilla, and 1 tablespoon milk on medium speed until frosting is smooth. If needed, add more milk, 1 teaspoon at a time, to achieve the proper spreading consistency.

Step 6: Using a serrated knife, trim tops of cakes to make level. Place four strips of parchment paper around perimeter of a serving plate or lazy Susan. Place the first layer on the cake plate. Spread the top of the first layer with 1/4 of the frosting. Place the second layer on top and repeat process with another 1/4 of the frosting. Place the remaining layer on top of the second layer bottom side up. Spread entire cake with remaining frosting. Sprinkle the top with pecans. Remove parchment paper strips; refrigerate until ready to serve.
