Two decades ago, I was assaulted & impregnated against my will, just weeks before my 18th birthday. My body was not only violated, it became my prison cell, trapping me with an incredibly heavy burden & constant reminder of my trauma. Thankfully, I had options. I reclaimed my own body, life & future by taking back the autonomy that had been violently stolen from me. MY decision. Not my assailant's & certainly not my government's!
It's both heartbreaking & infuriating to know that young women today don't have the same bodily autonomy I had back then. A room of just 6 individuals — half of whom were appointed by Trump — met in secret & took it away despite each promising publicly to uphold the Court's 50-year-old decision. Voting is so important, now more than ever! We cannot stand by while our rights are systematically stripped from us & the beliefs of religious zealots are forced upon us!! ♀️🗳️✊
