There was a documented case of this I think, where a man woke up to find his conjoined twin dead and immediately called for an emergency separation, don't think he survived, but imagine how terrifying it would be to see one of your closest friends and family members (I'd imagine even stronger than that almost a part of you) dead beside you, and the panic that sets in knowing you're most likely going to join them

The Hilton twins died that exact way. The twins (unrelated to Paris) were joined at the hip and put on display at traveling shows in their youth. They died around middle age within days of each other, sometime in the 1960s. They were found collapsed on the floor in different states of decomposition, so one twin died first while the other was forced to drag her corpse around their apt before finally succumbing to her own death

Unfortunately, I believe the other would develop sepsis and, as a result of her inability to be physically separated from her twin, the dead tissue/ blood would infect the alive twin, killing her. There might be a way, I just know this is at least one of the outcomes.
