Professor, someone said that difference in difference method is actually not sophisticated anymore. What do you think if it compared to regression discontinuity?

Good explanation, but it is difficult to assess the truth value of counterfactual conditionals unlike material conditionals as defined in the propositional calculus. The problem of causal over-determination is one way to bring out the problems of defining causation via counterfactual conditionals.

Hi there - this is a great explanation but I am still left a little confused. If the counterfactual is what didn't happen (i.e. if the intervention didn't occur), isn't that just the same as the control group (i.e. the people who didn't get the intervention)?? What am I missing?
