Added a cute privacy screen to our windows so I don’t have to just stare at someone ringing the doorbell until they walk away when I don’t want to answer it. #diyhome #windows #amazonhome

I used these all over my home! And not just for windows, one of my bathrooms has a glass sliding door that’s completely see through 🙈 I got an aquatic design and put it on the outside of the sliding door! It’s like it was always that way.

Just be aware that if you experience really hot summers that any windows that get a lot of sunlight might peel in the corners due to the film expanding during the day and then contracting at night. All you have to do is wet the corners with a little water and squeegee it back and it’ll be fine.

The other great thing is that they don’t use adhesive on the back so you can switch them out for holiday designs if you want to. Once they’re cut to size it’s so easy to peel and stick

You can see shadow movements through that film, so they still know you are home. My 2-year old opened the door to a scary stranger before I could get to the door, so I know what you mean; he took advantage & stepped inside. It was hard getting rid of him. Kids do the darndest things.

Mirror film works much better for this purpose. You can still see out to see who is standing on your doorstep, but they can't see in.

My kids' bedroom faces the front of the house and they have a huge bay window. Because of the window seat, curtains kept getting pulled down, so I used a stained glass window cling. It looks like magnolia blossoms, adds pretty colors to the light coming in, and gives them privacy!

I put up the stained glass window film pattern. I love it!!! No One can see inside and the sunshine ☀️ shines color in the entrance way. 🥰

Home Depot also has several designs - I have the rice paper pattern on my front window for privacy. The light shines through and I really like it in place of the curtain that was there previously.

As a delivery driver, these windows really are an odd yet welcome choice. With curtains, they are great for checking outside without a peep hole. Dogs love seeing who is outside (yeah, kids really will just open the door to me). But it’s also so open, makes me itchy to think how easy it is to see my customers at night as I walk up.

So many negative remarks. Why? Be nice folks. She did a lovely job on her windows. And it’s perfect for HER. ❤❤❤

I'd have used mirror foil. Gives you a clear view outside, and no one can look inside. There are even "lesser reflective" ones in different colors. They still offer 100% "blocking" from the outside, but don't look like a mirror. More like a slightly frosted/mat "paint". It's hard to describe. I'd just recommend googling it and looking at the options.

⚠️ *The true test of whether or not you* *can actually see through those privacy* *films and into your house* *is to GO OUTSIDE AT NIGHT AND LOOK FROM OUTSIDE IN with the lights in your house turned on.*

When it comes to those privacy films, sometimes what looks blurry to you and what YOU can't see from the inside of your house is the total opposite of what can be seen when someone is looking from the outside into the house.
Even some of those plain privacy films without patterns cut into them can be seen through from outside of a house especially at night.
The best thing to do is to make sure the privacy film you buy can be returned before you buy it, then when you get it cut out a square, stick it to your window and test if you can see through it or not before you waste time installing it on your windows and/or the window in your door. Then if it doesn't work out you can always return it.

As an Uber eats delivery driver it always brings a huge smile to my face when I see kids do this, they are so cute especially when they. wave at me it makes my day ❤ it’s also really funny when I notice the parents try to hide but the kids don’t 💀

I did this to my kitchen windows and halfway to my kids' windows. We are quite up high, but the apartments on the other side of the street have a perfect view inside😐 I feel so much better now.

Your design choice is beautiful

I have them on my windows too but ordered stain glass look. I sprayed water on glass first tho…. Then use squeegee to press out excess water & smooth out. Looks beautiful

Our entire front door AND the side windows are entirely glass with minimal frosted etching. Directly across and down a short hallway is a breakfast room. So many times while seated at the table I've looked up to find someone looking at me from outside of the front door. A few of those times our now deceased Border Collie was silently sitting inside the front door looking at the person that was looking at me 😂

Had put on 20 years ago because didn’t want dogs seeing anyone coming to the door. It worked perfectly and still looks as good as the day I put it on!

Looks good. I added four more layers of that film to prevent from seeing shadows/silhouettes inside the home. You can install a latch high enough on the door to prevent little children from opening the door.

I'm so glad that my mum taught me to not open the door and just to stand there waiting for her just so I can stare into the person behind the doors soul while she speaks to them.

it’s a really great idea. It reminded me of a time we were renovating the basement suite of my dad‘s house. He was going to replace all the windows because they were murky. And then I was I was cleaning them I realized it was actually a peel and stick so I took all the peel and stick off and saved him tons of $$.

They have retro fit blinds you can put on the side windows. Easy to install and open and close for privacy if you need it.

They make a spray-on product to simulate a frosted window. Most stores sell it in the spray paint area and you can't see through it. You can remove it, if desired, with acetone.
