On 28 July, UNDP in partnership with the EU, will launch its new report and newsmagazine programme, Asia in Focus: CLEAN AIR and the BHR Agenda.

Asia in Focus is a multi-prong platform focused on the interconnections between business, human rights, and the environment in Asia. Through interactive digital products, reports, short docs and talk shows, the series will deep dive into the controversies and tradeoffs of solving Asia’s water pollution, climate change and air pollution crisis.

Air pollution is considered among the most pressing environmental and public health challenges in Asia. Forty-nine of the top 50 cities most affected by air pollution are found in the region. How do we address air pollution in Asia? Who, if anyone, should be held responsible? And what role do human rights protections play in ensuring results from government and industry?
