I wish they would have built in an override function, so that I can still choose to fire in an arc if I want to. Image being in the fray with all your mates and somebody steps in Front of your LRM Assault mech. LRMs were meant to add support fire but now with the flat arc I think free line of sight to the enemy will become a major concern for a weapon system which was meant to circumvent that problem.

To think, I liked getting active with my LRM boats *before* this. Now? You bet your c-bill balance I'll be even happier with it. :D

I love coordinating with my fellow missile boats to have us all firing on one target. Together we can drill through an Atlas in 20 seconds.

Thanks Baradul for all of the videos, I can honestly say that I think you have given me a lot of good advice and helped my game play out quite a bit. I am still very mediocre as a player for many reasons, but I have made watching the daily dose a part of my morning ritual to get me going and spark new ideas for MWO. I don't particularly like the new buffs/patches/whatever to the LRM's since it just forces people who like playing the fire support role to play exactly like everyone else. I have had to get up and take the fight to the enemy with my Archer's in the past just as much as I used to sit back and lob missiles over a hill, but perhaps it was my luck to get put on teams that don't want to use the "R" key to help with locks and so I learned to simply not count on my team that way for playing LRM's. Now I have really no choice but to run right up there in the front of the pack to get my own locks since without line of sight it takes way too long to get a lock to fire and the Universe help you if the enemy team is running ECM, 'cause you can just forget about it. I get it that a lot of folks dig it because who really likes missile spam unless you are a flying viking, but it does drastically change game play preferences and in my humble opinion, enforces conformity as opposed to tactical flexibility. Its just my two cents and obviously PGI is probably not going to reverse or soften it up anytime soon, so what does the dedicated Archer pilot do? Deal with it and make the best out the games parameters I guess. Thanks for all of your hard work and dedication to making the MWO community a good place to be. :)

It would be nice if the TAG was a toggle on/off button when equipped.

I have been using a sun spider with 2x uac10, 4x lrm5 for a while, playing actively and using lrms to amplify damage. Works great! Then yesterday I went all in on lrm90. 25 damage from 1200 missiles fired. Everyone is running ams right now, it is insane!!!

thank you.. I been using LRM 15 on my Marauder IIc as line of sight (LOS) for years, I learned watching your channel that I do not have to wait for missile lock, so they are good for brawling too.. I rarely use them for over the top shots but if you are pinned down it helps to have something you can fight back with..

I really like the LRM changes.
I played a match in my Mad Dog-Revenant with 2 LRM 20s, 4 ER Med Lasers
Did about 800+ damage, I was at the front, sharing armor, getting my own locks, aggressively LRM-ing targets.

MadDog was my first mech and I started getting close and playing with missile arcs back when you needed 3 to master. That's also when I started playing with the SRM splat builds. Always loved the MadDog's mobility. Jump into the fight, deliver some hurt, duck back out, reposition, or just go hunt lights. Sitting way in the back is boring. :)

In the Older versions of MW (2, mercs, ghost bear, etc), LRM's fired directly at the target (No Arc) and you could lock on to a target, and then fire off in a direction to left, right or high to concentrate missile hits to one side or the other.

For example, you could lock on, and then swivel your firing axis down right and fire so the missiles would fire to the left side of your target and low along the ground to hit the left leg / side of the mech or tilt up center and fire to make it rain down on top of the mech to increase your chances of hitting the head of the mech.

JJ's also had far better functionality. You were able to make a mech sidestep using them. Makes sense to put them in a 100ton mech at that point so that when you have that annoying light mech circling you, you could fire JJ's in the opposite direction to rapidly spiral the mech around.

Just don't expect any height at 100 tons..

The primary advantage of LRM's is indirect fire. Once you have line of sight you might as well use direct fire weapons that are pinpoint, higher velocity, and generally more efficient, especially when AMS is taken into account.

I really like this LRM evolution, it makes sense to restart playing MWO ;)
