How to make a soft and fluffy Raisin Bread.

Here are the ingredients:
1 cup milk (250ml) (room temp)
1 egg
2¼ tsp instant yeast (7g)
¼ cup sugar (50g)
3 ¼ cups all purpose flour (406g)
1 tsp salt (5g)
1/4 cup softened butter (50g)
1 cup raisin for the dough and 1/2 cup more for the filling
Eggwash: 1 egg yolk + 1 tablespoon milk

SPANISH:
Aquí están los ingredientes:
1 taza de leche (250 ml) (temperatura ambiente)
1 huevo
2¼ cucharaditas de levadura instantánea (7 g)
¼ de taza de azúcar (50 g)
3 ¼ tazas de harina para todo uso (406 g)
1 cucharadita de sal (5 g)
1/4 taza de mantequilla ablandada (50 g)
1 taza de pasas para la masa y 1/2 taza más para el relleno
Lavado de huevos: 1 yema de huevo + 1 cucharada de leche

The dough totally refused to become elastic after kneading for some time, so I plopped it into an oiled bowl for the rise anyway. It rose nicely and was strong and elastic. Turned out to be a very workable dough after the rise. Update: love this recipe! Turned out beautifully. The dough is so soft, and what I like best of all is that it is not sweet! Would be perfect with a cup of tea!! Definitely a keeper!!! Thanks!!

I bake this recipe yesterday and I’m in shock for the results, it’s absolutely a winner, I did not used raisins this time, I wanted plain to spread anything on it, the dough is incredible soft, thank you so much for sharing it. 🙏🏻

I am considered by my friends and family the best cook they know and as such I create my own recipes, which in fact as most recipes are, adaptations of other recipes, but this is by far and above the best fruit loaf I have ever made. I did not plait it but simply made a loaf, still flattening and rolling it. I am not a bread person but my husband is and I actually had 2 slices ( could not resist ) but I’m sure my husband will eat half of the loaf for his supper, and I cannot wait to see how it toasts. I've been looking for a recipe like this for years. When i was a kid my mum would buy a braided loaf filled with raisins and covered with an icing glaze as treat for us on the last Friday of the month. At the time she worked in a curtain shop and this was from the bakery a few stores down.
It was when times were a bit tough but so simple... she's coming to visit me next week and I'm going to use this recipe to recreate that loaf for her. I know she's gonna love It! Thanks for the trip down memory lane 🤗
I made this for her today and it was perfect! My dad says it better than store bought raisin bread. I definitely recommend it!

I made this lastnight and it was amazing. The only difference was the baking temperature. I bake mine at 315 degrees F. for 40 mins. It was light and fluffy. Instructions are on point! Simply amazing!

I made this recipe yesterday in my bread machine and it came out amazing, perfect with a cup of tea. Only thing I’ll do different next time is divide the dough and bake two separate loaves because it was almost too large for my bread machine to handle.

I just finished baking this and the entire place smells delicious! It's cooling off now. I may have added a little too much flour - my dough was never as elastic as yours and mine looks a little dry, but it's been a while since I baked with yeast, so I will troubleshoot and try again. Thanks for this recipe; I can't wait to take a bite!
