Careless harvesting machine operator. Anyone with eyes would have seen the back end of the trailer was full, and go to the middle and front so not to lose any beans. Bet there was enough beans on the ground to keep a family happy for the winter. sheesh.

Dear JDfan, What is the avg lifetime of these machines? I was researching them, and they are quite expensive - do you own these machines or do you lease it from other companies or share it with other farms? Also, do any cooperatives rent out these machines in Florida?

Nice operation but it looks like a lot of wasted beans on the ground, and a lot of trash in them but my operation is nowhere near the size of this one

the fact that they are spraying right next to where they are harvesting beans has some serious food safety implications.

parts of the stalk that isn't the bean.

your only supposed to fill the trailer to about 30 in. or the beans on the bottom will be crused

I guess that if the end product of the harvest is OK with the canning/freezing factory, the rest of us have little to be concerned about. For all we know, the sprayer might be applying an organic concoction, harmless to humans and great for plants.
