I had my phone with me, napping. I have a Merle Haggard play list but I had never heard this whole album, "If I Could Only Fly." Every song is a knock out. I wonder how The Strangers, Merle's band, are doing since his death. It's as fine a band as one can find. Seeing Merle and The Strangers at John Asguagga's Nugget in Reno was about as great as one can get re small intimate venue. Love you, Merle, thanks for all your social commentary and empathy.

Listening to the wind. . I absolutely loved ..If I could only fly.
But to be quite honest I don't think there's a Merle Haggard song I didn't enjoy. They just don't make them like Merle anymore.
I believe we've got every Haggard song daddy ever recorded.
Even though his voice changed somewhat in his older years he was still the best no matter what. Imho
