As a Canadian, this is the ultimate late night drunk food or hangover cure. Basically it’s our panacea. That and maple syrup.

I'm Canadian and how I have not thought of that pun.

"I call it Poutine because it makes you want to pout it in your mouth" 😂😂😂

"BRILLIANT" and "Wait, this was a contest" had me laughing for a minute straight. That and the reaction of the person I showed it to.

As someone married to a Quebecoise, this is 100% accurate!! One of your best videos

Not only do I feel this is historically accurate, Universal's experience is exactly what my first Poutine experience was.

Actually there were already a dish called Frites Sauce which is Beef Gravy of Fries so a guy ask to put Cheese curd which is sold as a snack in convenience store in Québec on it's Frite Sauce. The Chef said to him it would make une belle poutine (a beautiful mess) of the frites sauce. That is how Poutine came to be.

As a Québécois, I am proud that the slop™ was worthy enough to become a national dish

I used to work for Beavertails in the food trucks and we would make poutine for ourselves to stay warm in the cold weather🇨🇦

“I just put all the things I wanna eat into one dish” safely sums up a lot of famous national dishes around the world (pizza, paella, etc), which makes sense; especially back when people didn’t have fridges or other similar sorts of preservation yet, they would just chuck all their leftovers at the end of the week into one place and make a dish out of it

When my uncle waa a young kid, he would eat poutine for dinner and get teased for it because it was poor people food. Which made sense, because he was a poor kid from a poor family. Today, he's always so fascinated to see how poutine has become so beloved not just by his province, but the entire country (and even beyond that!). But to this day, he says he can't really bring himself to choose poutine as a meal, because it still holds a lot of bad vibes and memories for him 😢

It is also very adaptable! I made pierogi poutine the other day, and I was like "now THIS is what I want for Thanksgiving in October"

Speaking of Foie Gras, for those unaware it's what the Grey Stuff in Beauty and the Beast is heavily implied to originally be, but because of it's being outlawed since it's a liver enlarged to, if I remmeber correctly, about 4 or 5 times larger than is actually the healthy maximum, Disney had to rebrand it, so in the parks it's a desert (I remember it was cookies and cream flavor but I forget the specific desert), and in the Live Action Film it's Caviar.

Don’t tell me the last contestant and the judge went to the same party, but the contestant stayed for more drinks. Cause that would be hilarious 🤣
